Stage 3 Kidney Disease With Creatinine 3.5

I have a creatinine level of 3.5. How can I tell if my kidneys are beginning to fail ?
Creatinine is a break-down product of creatine phosphate in muscle, and is usually produced at a fairly constant rate by the body .
At a creatinine level of 3.5, your kidneys are not functioning well. They are functioning at about 15% of normal. You need to see a nephrologist (who specializes in the medical disorders of the kidney) for evaluation. He will order blood and urine tests, check and ultrasound of the kidneys, and check your blood pressure.
Normal range of creatinine in blood is 0.7-1.4 mg/dl.Creatinine is 3.5mg/dl which is high, Creatinine 3.5 means stage 3 kidney failure. Creatinine is a chemical waste that is generated from muscle metabolism. It could be due to different reasons like ACE inhibitors or angiotensin-II receptor blockers are used in the treatment of chronic heart failure, more non vegetarian food consumption, muscle break down in body or high muscular body mass or there could be renal disease which decrease urea re-absorption in kidney hence urea levels are low but creatinine level may rise. First, exact diagnosis has to established. Get a CPK blood test done. If increased, it means muscle break down.
so how to lower high creatinine 3.5 ?
If your kidneys are weak, avoid consuming caffeine, sugary foods, dairy products, red meats, alcoholic beverages, processed foods, and other fatty foods. This allows your kidneys to work more efficiently. There are certain herbs like dandelion and ginseng that act as diuretics and aid the kidneys in their function. Aloe vera juice can help regulate blood pressure and may also help in keeping the blood sugar levels low. A teaspoon of the juice of fresh basil leaves along with a spoon of honey can also help clear your stomach of toxins, allowing your body to be healthier. Cinnamon mixed in water or spring hog weed powder mixed with water can also help improve overall kidney function and can help lower creatinine levels. Regular exercise and healthy diet can help keep blood sugar in control this also aids in controlling the creatinine levels of the blood. When you are shopping for groceries and food items, make sure you buy foods that are low in the glycemic index. When buying packaged foods, read the labels carefully to avoid transfats and foods with a high glycemic index. Avoid processed foods as much as you possibly can. This will cause lower stress on your kidneys.
You should also drink lots of fluids, especially water. If you are on hemodialysis, a diet that is rich in proteins is recommended. Cheese, eggs, meat, fish, nuts and other similar proteins are excellent for those who have been on dialysis. The amount of salt, potassium, and phosphates in the diet should be lowered drastically to allow the kidneys to function normally. There are several people who may prefer alternative therapies to help bring down the blood creatinine levels. However, since high levels of creatinine can cause significant damage to the renal system, it is best if you get medical assistance as soon as possible. Any home remedies that you may wish to use should be used only as complementary to the medications prescribed by the doctor and only after discussing with the attending doctor. In order to prevent significant kidney damage, it is best to take good care of your health, exercise regularly, and consume a nutrient rich balanced diet.
